Reports of “Pink Slime” in School Meals???

CBS NEWS REPORTS…”USDA: Schools can decide if "pink slime" will be served in school lunch”
USDA: The schools will have the choice between 95 percent lean beef with "pink slime" or less lean bulk ground beef without it.

To address any fears you may have about school lunches, we thought you should be aware that we do not use beef in ANY school meals.  Since 2008 when there were reports of “mad cow” disease, PUSD made the conscious decision to refrain from using any beef products.  We have continued to serve only white meat to our students since then as it is a healthier choice.
